Tobias Wenting

Acquaintances of my parents had an old piano, and since I crawled behind it, the piano has become an integral part of my life and work. After studying classical piano at the School for Young Talent, I decided to broaden my horizons by studying Composition for Film and Theater at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem. At ArtEZ, my love for piano playing, composing, singing and lyric writing came together within Dutch cabaret. I am constantly looking for unconventional ways in which music and text can come together. My theatrical work includes virtuosic musical and textual surprises. Besides my work as a pianist and theater maker, I am involved as an arranger and composer in various theater, film and game projects at home and abroad. Since 2021 I have been active as coordinator of the preliminary music courses of the ArtEZ Conservatory of Music in Arnhem. Here I want to give my students a large dose of craftsmanship, while at the same time stimulating and inspiring them to approach the profession of musician as broadly and openly as possible.
